We have specialized in power amplifier repair (PA), preamp repair, active speakers and stereo FM tuner repair of all kinds and brands, including Aiwa, Akai, Behringer, C-Mark, Carlton, Citronic, Crown, Denon, Dual, Dynaudio Acoustics, Fender, Gemini, Grundig, Harman/Kardon, Hitachi, Ibiza, JBL, JVC, Kenwood, Leak, Marantz, Marshall, Nad, Onkyo, Panasonic, Peavey, Pioneer, ProSound, Pyle, QSC, Quad, Revox, Sansui, Sanyo, Sharp, Sherwood, Skytech/SPL, Sony, Technics, Telefunken, Toshiba, Yamaha and many more.
Furthermore we provide complete music/sound system repair as well as vintage amplifier repair of units with vacuum tubes or solid state (transistors or MOSFETs). We also offer audio repairs of other professional audio equipment such as pre-amplifier, synthesizer/keyboard, pedal and guitar amp repair (Marshall, Yamaha, Fender, Peavey).
All amp repairs undergo a performance and soak test into an artificial load at full power (up to 4,000 Watts RMS) to make sure the unit is stable and is not overheating or breaking down.
We are able to lend you one of our amplifiers during the time of repair if you are a commercial business (club, restaurant, pub, hotel, entertainment company) operating in the Greater London area.
We also offer the servicing of your working amplifier which includes thorough cleaning of the internal PCBs, case, heat sinks, fans and air filters. We will also be checking for dry solder joints, will clean crackling potentiometers (pots), faders, switches and replace electrolytic capacitors if deemed necessary. Furthermore we will conduct a performance test and replace components if the performance of the amplifier does not meet its initial specifications anymore due to aging (hum, harmonic distortions, frequency response, output power). We also offer other amplifier repair services in our workshop (e.g. modifications) upon request. Please contact us for an individual quotation.
For older amplifiers like Quad, Leak or tube amps we offer a refurbishment service. This includes the replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, resistors out of tolerance, leaking transistors or valves and other worn parts. Please note that we do NOT do optical or case refurbishments. Please talk to us for further information.
Our repairs start from £69. The final cost is dependent on the complexity of the item, fault, working time and cost of spare parts. We will carry out the repair up to a fixed cost ceiling that we will communicate to you before commencing the repair. In most cases the repair cost stays well below this fixed ceiling. However, in the rare case that the repair would exceed this price limit we will call you to ask how you would like to proceed. Please contact us for an initial quotation and describe the faulty behavior as best as you can. Clearly state the brand and type (i.e. Hitachi HA-5300). Please understand that only after thoroughly checking your device and identifying the faulty parts we will be able to tell you the total cost for the repair. We have a no fix, no pay policy. That means if we are unable to fix it for whatever reason (i.e. spare parts unavailable) you don’t have to pay anything.
Depending on our work load and the availability of spare parts the usual time for a repair is about 5-10 working days. If spare parts are rare and must be ordered from overseas it will usually take 1-2 weeks longer. Express service (1-3 working days) is available for an additional cost of £59 subject to availability of spare parts.
All amplifier repairs, tuner and guitar amp repairs are covered by a 12 months warranty. In the unlikely event that the same fault re-occurs within a period of 12 months you are entitled for a free repair of the same fault.
We have a drop-off and collection point in Green Lanes, N16, London. You are welcome to drop off and collect your faulty item here. Please call us for more details.
Repair by Post
We do accept repairs by post! Please contact us for further information before posting your item to us. Shipping cost both ways is payable by the customer. You are free to choose your own preferred courier service (Royal Post, DHL, TNT, Parcelforce, FedEx, HERMES). Note that we are not responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during transit. From our experience, when the customer properly packs up the item in a padded box (foam, bubble wrap, newspapers…) this usually never happens. In the unlikely case however the customer can make a claim at the courier service used as all shipments would be covered by their insurance.
